Korey Wilkes, RA – Associate / P.M.
Even though I moved around a lot and spent most of my childhood in the Pacific Northwest I call Arizona my Home. After attending 5 different High Schools [character building!] my family landed in Arizona in the late 80’s. I’ve been an Arizonan ever since. I married the most gorgeous Native Arizonan, did a 4 year tour as an Arab Linguist in the Army, and we returned home to have two beautiful children. I enjoy spending time with my family, serving my community through my Church, working on cars, hunting, a good Sci-Fi flic, and did I say spending time with my family!? While in the military I found that I really enjoyed design and construction, so when I got out I managed to get a job in construction through my father-in-law. Working in construction, I interacted with a number of Architects and found that the path I wanted to take was to get into Architecture and wanted to do it as quickly as possible. Fortunately Arizona was still one of the few states that permitted you to get registered through a combination of schooling and On the Job Training (OJT). So after 6 years (1/2 time) of night and weekend courses at Glendale Community College and another 5 years+ of experience I obtained my Registration in 2009. Becoming an Associate at Butler Design Group this past year has been another rewarding achievement.I’m passionate, devoted, goal-minded, and hardworking in all facets of my life; my Faith, my Family, my fun, and my work.
