Rick Keil
Architecture Technology Manager
BIOGRAPHY:
Rick’s journey has taken him around the world, but Phoenix
has always been home. After moving to the Valley in 1990 to attend Arizona
State University, he quickly established roots in the desert. Over the years,
he has lived in many places — including 19 months in Europe, five years in
Omaha, Nebraska, and most recently five years in St. Louis, Missouri, where he
helped support his family business. No matter where life leads him, he always
finds his way back to Arizona.
With more than 20 years of experience in the architecture,
engineering, and construction industry, Rick has built his career at the
intersection of design and technology. His experience spans commercial
buildings, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, hospitality projects, and
customized CAD systems. As Architecture Technology Manager at Butler Design
Group, he leads the firm’s BIM strategy, technology standards, and digital
workflows, helping teams collaborate effectively and deliver projects with clarity
and precision.
Throughout his career, Rick has valued the relationships and
mentorship opportunities that come with the profession just as much as the
technology itself. Outside of work, he enjoys going to concerts, cooking
gourmet meals, and spending time with his American Bulldog, Mia. And, of
course, he continues to appreciate the Arizona sunshine that keeps calling him
home.
