Khalid comes from a military family, and is a native to Arizona. From an early age, Khalid was exposed to a variety of creativity from his mother who practiced Interior Architecture and Fashion Design, and his father who practices residential construction. While in high school, he was enrolled in the Vocational Industrial Classes of America Program, which introduced him to the practice of Aerospace Engineering. From there, Khalid decided to expand upon his knowledge by pivoting his education into Architecture and Environmental Design at Phoenix College’s Tech earning his Associates in Architecture, and CAD Certification. Afterwards, he continued onto ASU’s School of Architecture earning his Bachelor’s in Architecture. While attending ASU, Khalid interned at The Construction Zone, where he was exposed to Design/Build within custom residential and commercial architecture. This exposure gave birth to freelance architectural practice, allowing Khalid to collaborate with local Architects. Khalid has now found a new home within the BDG family. Outside of the office, he spends his time crafting models, constructing LEGO’s, and periodically enjoys a concert or Salsa Dancing.
